Spatial phenotypic analysis of tissue microenvironment - tertiary lymphoid structure
Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) are ectopic lymphoid organs formed from non-lymphoid tissue during chronic inflammation and tumor. They are composed of T cells, B cells, follicular dendritic cells, etc. TLSs exist in tumor tissues in different mature states. The highest level can form a germinal center structure. In recent years, a number of well-known teams have conducted in-depth studies on the correlation between TLSs and tumors. It was found that B-cell infiltration and the formation of tertiary lymphoid structure in different tumor types were positively correlated with patients' response to immunotherapy, which emphasized the important role of B-cells and TLSs in anti-tumor immunity.
